PAWS for Reading at Middletown Free Library
2 PM
“PAWS for Reading is a program that allows children to read aloud to a therapy dog (or cat, or bunny!) in order to improve reading and communication skills. Children read individually to trained therapy pets (and their handlers) in schools, libraries, or other settings where they can feel comfortable and confident — and have fun! After all, a dog will not correct them or make them feel awkward if they stumble.”
MFL is a participating library in PAWS for Reading program! We have enough spaces per visit for 12 kids/readers. We recommend ages 5+ or any one who can read aloud.
Readers are limited to 10 minutes of reading aloud to a pet, but can read on their own or enjoy the library while waiting. Register for each individual child you will be bringing (do not include yourself or caregivers in the number).
If you register but do not show-up without notice, you will forfeit any future sign-ups for this program. Those unable to sign up are welcome to come and take any open space that may happen from no-shows!

Every first Sunday of the month there is free admission at the Barnes! Visitors have access to the collection and #BertheMorisot: Woman Impressionist.
This month, we are inspired by our friends across the ocean—The Big Draw is a British-based visual literacy program that encourages learning through drawing.
During Art Making join artists in creating a “doodle mural”—a visual landscape combining casual doodles and detailed illustrations. Practice drawing a still-life or make your own sketch book!
Join our storyteller for a journey of pictures and words!
This month #LetsConnectPhilly artist-in-residence, Eric Goldberg, will be showcasing a printing demonstrating in the Mural Arts Philadelphia Studio at the Barnes.
Watch as the entertainers of Philly’s Fabulous Faces twist colorful balloons into animals and plants drawn from their imagination.
Learn more about all the activities of the day: http://bit.ly/Jan6-FamilyDay
Free tickets are available on-site at 10am, include collection access, and are limited to four per person.
