The Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market and the Christmas Village Carousel join Wintergarden and the Rothman Ice Rink as part of many holiday festivities surrounding Center City this season. The open-air pop-up market is curated by organizers of Christmas Village in Philadelphia, which will set up across the street in LOVE Park for its 12th season. Admission to the market is free, with Carousel rides $3.00 each.

Christmas at the Choo Choo Barn
November 21 to December 31, 2019
The Choo Choo Barn transforms Traintown USA® to bring the magic of Christmas to its gigantic model train display.
Starting November 21, search for 58 hidden Santas (one for each year we have been open) and watch as Santa’s sleigh flies above the 1,700 square foot model train extravaganza, which includes 150 hand-built animations and 22 moving trains. Enjoy the holiday decorations throughout the display including holiday lights and the snow-covered landscape. Plus, take a close look at the zoo animals in Traintown to see how they’re getting into the holiday spirit.
The Christmas layout is open 7 days a week through December 31 from 10am-4:30pm (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas days). Please note that we close early (3:30pm) on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

This event will qualify Girl Scouts for all three robotics badges and Boy Scouts for their badges. Older kids can learn about our 120lb robots and have a chance to drive them!

Media’s Strolling Postman will be up and down State Street during the Festival of Lights, 5-8PM. Children can give Mr Postman their letters to Santa with their name and address, and Santa will write them from the North Pole! (No postage required) Mr Postman will then stop at Scooped Ice Cream & Gelato to collect letters from 6:00to 630pm.

Home Depot Kids Workshop – Stocking Ornament

Kids – Have fun making your own stocking ornament this holiday season. Using the pieces in this kit, you’ll learn to nail a frame to the inside of your ornament. The frame can hold any favorite small photo. With help from your parents and our Store Associates, you can paint your creation to make it truly unique. Don’t forget to add stickers for a final special touch. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Santa Claus will arrive on a firetruck with the city’s finest, then he will greet children and collect their wish lists. Parents should bring their own cameras for photos with Santa. Music, treats, and gift shopping will also be part of the event. CBS3 ‘s Kimberly Davis will help Santa count down to the official lighting of the tree at 5:00pm. Bring your family, friends and neighbors – the event is free! SSHD, CBS 3 and The CW Philly 57 will collect unwrapped toys for children in the region through the Salvation Army.
