The Great Pumpkin Carve

The Moshu-Boo is a spooky family friendly attraction located on the iconic Moshulu docked in Philadelphia on Penn’s Landing. The Moshu-Boo features an interactive Halloween experience with oversized super heroes and traditional spooky Halloween favorites on a life-sized pirate ship. Tour guides in costume take the kids and adults through the ships decks and past the festive decorations. This year’s International Archaeology Day coincides with the final Public Archaeology excavation of the year at Newlin Grist Mill. Members of the public are invited to assist professional archaeologists with excavations.
This event is free to the public and open to all ages. No reservations are required. If you would like to help out with the dig, be sure to wear clothes that can get dirty and close-toed footwear. Bring work gloves if you have them; the site has a limited number of pairs to lend. The culture, customs and the daily work of colonial life will be brought to life by period re-enactors.
Stroll the lawn of the Marple Christian Church craft sale, located next to the historic site, where over 20 vendors will provide a variety of arts and crafts for sale.

Pumpkin Days at Tyler Arboretum

Celebrate fall with two days of family fun! Make your own scarecrow, or take a hayride through Tyler’s fall colors. With crafts, games, face painting, a moon bounce, an inflatable obstacle course, family photo ops galore, and of course, PUMPKINS, there’s something for everyone.
Buy lunch at Tyler and spend the day. Pizza, sandwiches, hot cider, fruit, snacks, and ice cream will be available to buy inside the event.
