The Moshu-Boo is a spooky family friendly attraction located on the iconic Moshulu docked in Philadelphia on Penn’s Landing. The Moshu-Boo features an interactive Halloween experience with oversized super heroes and traditional spooky Halloween favorites on a life-sized pirate ship. Tour guides in costume take the kids and adults through the ships decks and past the festive decorations. Then it heads to the pumpkin patch where the kids can find and color a souvenir pumpkin, enjoy hot chocolate and dine at the buffet supplied by the 4 diamond Moshulu restaurant. A DJ will supply some festive tunes at the pumpkin patch so everyone can do the monster mash. Plus, experience Halloween-themed hands-on activities—like make your own slime and trick-or-treat pins, plus ghostly smoke-filled bubbles to bounce. Our Live Science Shows turn scary, and the eye dissections become spooky—all ending with a festive costume parade and a hair-raising ball pit ball explosion!

South Street Pumpkin Fest

Head House Square 2nd St & E Pine St, Philadelphia, PA
South Street Pumpkin Fest returns to Headhouse Square (2nd and Lombard) with circus performances, horse and wagon hay rides, crafts for kids, seasonal bites, pumpkin putt-putt golf, a straw bale maze, face painting and costume contests and even a a pumpkin pie eating contest. Businesses will also open their doors for trick or treaters (12 and under) from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.
Festivities to include:
* Horse and wagon hay rides on the cobblestone-lined streets around Society Hill and South Street neighborhoods. Rides are ticketed, with proceeds going to charity, and begin at the edge of the Shambles at 2nd and Lombard.
* Get lost in the middle of South Street’s straw bale maze with enough twists and turns to challenge both younger children and their parents.
* Philadelphia School of Circus Arts / Airplay Entertainment will perform amazing aerial feats and Mystique the Magician will dazzle with illusions.
* Halloween is about giving back too! Bring gently used winter coats, shoes and donations for Broad Street Ministry to provide for those in need in advance of winter season.
* Make and take crafts for children including coloring your own trick-or-treat bags, pumpkin decorating and other crafts.
* Costume contest for kids under 14, with special categories for most creative costume, scariest costume, and best family ensemble. Judging starts at 3:00pm, with prizes provided by South Street Headhouse businesses. In addition to the costume contest, there will be a pumpkin pie eating contest for kids and adults).
* South Street businesses will formally open their doors to welcome all the boos and ghouls dressed up in costume from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Pick up your list at PumpkinFest and look for ghosts hanging outside all participating businesses. Children should be 12 and under, and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The event will be held rain or shine.
Festivities are free, with food and drink pay-as-you-go.

Our MakerSpace will be full of festive creations, where decorated laser-cut pumpkins and spooky charms on glow bracelets* will be made. Decorate pumpkin scrimshaw – it’s sure to be bone-chilling. Visit the Mad Scientists’ Lab and get your hands dirty in mysterious mud while digging up some ghoulish surprises. There’s a lot to discover in the muck while learning about what the Delaware River is made up of.
Ghost stories told on Schooner Diligence may give you chills but cider and hot cocoa will be available to warm you up. A face painter will be ready to draw supernatural designs. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded to maritime-themed ones. It’ll be spooky fun for all at this fang-tastic family event.
