11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
at Piazza at Schmidts Commons in Philadelphia
FREE Practice and Chance to Breathe the Summer Air
Around the world at the Summer Solstice, Yogis from all backgrounds practice 108 Sun Salutations together, forming a “mala” or “garland” around the globe that links us all together in mind, body, and spirit. This year in Philadelphia, you can be part of the experience and see what Yoga Mala is all about! Teachers will alternate in leading the Salutes to the Sun, which can be modified as you go for safety and endurance, and the many repetitions create a sense of connection and community that will stay with you throughout the long days of summer and beyond. Any level of yoga practitioner is welcome, as are kids, and you can take breaks as needed.
To make this year extra special, we ask you for flowers!
Bring flowers to share with new friends, wear flowers on your clothes or in your hair, or to represent an intention — Join us!
Together, we’ll plant seeds in the sunshine and let a garland of unity GROW!
***bring a mat or beach towel or both
***refreshments will be available but it’s nice to have your own
***dress in layers, with sunscreen and hats/sunglasses if you like
